De ceva vreme tot bântuie zvonul că Acer va lansa în cadrul târgului Computex, organizat la începutul lunii iunie la Taipei, un mini laptop echipat cu viitorul sistem de operare Google Chrome. Se pare însă că până la urmă acest lucru nu este adevărat. Sătui probabil de atâta agitaţie, cei de la Acer au publicat ieri pe site-ul lor oficial un anunţ destul de sec în care precizează că nu au planuri pe termen scurt privind un netbook cu Chrome OS. Da, acest sistem de operare este cu siguranţă extrem de interesant, şi da, Acer stă cu ochii pe el, dar este nevoie de o analiză profundă în ceea ce priveşte potenţialul său din perspectiva consumatorilor. Întregul anunţ, mai jos:
“Despite recent rumours in the press regarding the launch of Chrome OS based netbooks at Computex, Acer today confirms that it has no short-term plans for such a product.
Acer believes that Google Chrome OS is without doubt an exciting product announcement and deserves it’s full attention as well as an in-depth study of its potential from a consumers perspective.
Acer is naturally interested in any product or service that enhances the overall experience of its products and will of course be following the development and progress of Google Chrome and the evolution of Google’s overall product strategy very closely.”
